Russula luteotacta Rea Gelbfleckender Täubling. Cap 3–8cm across, flattened convex, later with a depression to shallowly funnel-shaped, red or pink, often with white areas, soon dry, matt, hardly peeling. Stem 30–70 x 5–15mm, white or tinted pink in places to completely red, club-shaped or narrowing upwards. Flesh white. Taste hot, smell slight, fragrant, sometimes suggesting coconut. Gills usually slightly but distinctly decurrent, pale cream, narrow. All parts bright yellow on bruising but often only after several hours. Spore print whitish (A). Spores with warts up to 0.7µ high, mostly isolated, very occasionally joined by fine lines, 7–9 x 6–7.5µ. Cap cystidia cylindrical, spindle-shaped or narrow club-shaped; cap surface hyphae cylindrical or tapering. Habitat under broad-leaved trees especially on wet clay. Season summer to autumn.
